Spain is a country known for its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and delicious cuisine, and most importantly, its world-renowned wines. Spanish wine has a long and fascinating history, with many different regions producing unique and delicious varieties. Read on to explore the history of Spanish wine production and take a deep dive into the most popular wine-producing regions in Spain.

Oregon is a hidden gem for wine enthusiasts. The state’s climate, soil, and landscape create unique growing conditions that are successfully - and surprisingly - producing some of the best wine in the world. Oregon’s wine industry is relatively new compared to other regions, but it has quickly gained a reputation for producing world-class Pinot Noir and other varietals like Chardonnay and Syrah.

This week, we will cross the French Alps over to Italy - the country with some of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world. Unlike the wines of France, which have maintained their structure over the course of the last century, the wines of Italy are a fabulous juxtaposition of classic, universally recognized wines and ever-evolving tastes that do a wonderful job of keeping up with the times.

Last week marked the first-ever PARC Aspen Flight Night, which will be taking place each Wednesday through the end of April.

This week’s flight night is dedicated to the wines of Rhône Valley, a breathtaking wine region in southeast France near the Mediterranean Sea. Read on to learn about the unique characteristics of this region’s wines to better appreciate this week’s selection.

Aspen has no shortage of wine experts, yet some stand out amongst the rest for their dedication to the perfection of the wine craft. One such individual is none other than Greg Van Wagner, Wine & Beverage Director here at PARC Aspen. Greg has spent his time at PARC Aspen cultivating a wine list so extensive that even the most esteemed wine drinkers would be impressed.

Interest and appreciation for mushrooms has grown exponentially over the course of the last couple of years, but Executive Chef, Mark Connell, has had a fondness for fungi since he was a young boy. Through PARC Aspen’s partnership with independent mushroom distributor, Steffen Mehnert, we are aiming to keep mushrooms on the menu no matter what the season, starting with our Mushroom and Polenta appetizer.
